AnnounceAlert Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using AnnounceAlert (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service & Not a 911 Replacement

AnnounceAlert is a community-driven safety tool that lets users broadcast real-time emergency alerts, share live location, and coordinate community response to combat human trafficking. It is intended solely for anti-trafficking and emergency-related use within the United States.

AnnounceAlert is not a substitute for 911 or any official emergency service. In a life-threatening emergency, always dial 911 first. AnnounceAlert is a community notification and coordination aid; it does not dispatch first responders and cannot guarantee any response. Station and map data come from third-party sources (such as OpenStreetMap) and may be incomplete or out of date.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old. You must provide your exact date of birth at registration to verify your age; anyone under 18 cannot create an account.
  • You agree to provide accurate identity information (real name, date of birth, gender, contact) so alerts can be verified and trusted.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • Device location permission is required to register and to use the live safety map.

4. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

AnnounceAlert offers auto-renewable subscriptions processed by Apple's App Store (In-App Purchase) and, where applicable, by Base44 (Wix) Payments for web users:

  • Statewide Pro — $30/year — unlocks precise alerts and notifications across your entire state.
  • Countrywide — $250/year — unlocks precise alerts and notifications nationwide.

Payment and renewal terms for App Store (iOS) purchases:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the renewal price then in effect.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID / App Store settings at any time.
  • Purchases are tied to the Apple ID used to buy them. Use Apple's "Restore Purchases" flow (where offered) to restore entitlement after reinstalling or switching devices.
  • Prices and billing currency are shown in the App Store at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use AnnounceAlert only for genuine safety and anti-trafficking purposes. You must not:

  • Issue false "In Danger" or false "Self Amber" alerts.
  • Harass, threaten, or misuse the emergency chat, direct messages, or group chats.
  • Impersonate another person or provide false identity information.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful, commercial, or non-safety purpose.

A "Self Amber Alert" is a user-initiated alert and is not an official government AMBER Alert™.

6. Reports & Suspensions

Any user may report another for false alerts, false amber alerts, misuse, or harassment. If a user accumulates reports from 20 or more different individual users, that account is suspended for 3 weeks and notified with the report reasoning. First-time reports serve as a warning; repeated offenses may extend suspensions or remove access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. User Content & Privacy

You retain ownership of content you submit (alert descriptions, chat messages, video). You grant AnnounceAlert a limited license to display and route that content to other users solely within the scope of an active alert for safety and coordination. Emergency chat and direct messages may be retained for legal and accountability purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how data is collected, secured, and deleted.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that alerts, notifications, location, video, or map data will be accurate, timely, available, or effective in any situation. Station listings and routing data are derived from third-party sources and may be incomplete or out of date. You are solely responsible for your own safety decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnnounceAlert and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any reliance on alerts, location, video, chat, or station data. This app does not replace 911 or official emergency services.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations of these Terms, for safety reasons, or as required by law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
