AnnounceAlert is a community-driven safety application designed to combat human trafficking and enable Self Amber Alerts — user-initiated alerts for when you are being trafficked. It empowers users to instantly broadcast their live GPS location to everyone in their zip code area when they are in danger or need to issue a Self Amber Alert (a user-initiated alert for when you are being trafficked). The app creates a real-time safety net where community members can see, respond to, and communicate with someone in distress.
Intent: This app exists solely for anti-trafficking and emergency-related activities — to help prevent human trafficking, get help to people in danger, and build a trusted community safety network. It is not for social, commercial, or recreational use.
United States — anti-trafficking only: AnnounceAlert is solely intended to be an anti-trafficking app for the United States. Additional regions, states, and countries are coming soon.
Viewing alerts, subscriptions & traveling: Anyone can view active alerts in their city, area, or zip code for free. Statewide Pro unlocks precise alerts and notifications throughout your entire state; Countrywide ($15/month) unlocks precise alerts and notifications throughout the entire country and enables you to send precise alerts nationwide; Global ($30/month) unlocks Earth-wide alert viewing and instant worldwide alert notifications. If your location and notification settings are on, you may view alerts while traveling in another area, city, or zip code — even without a subscription. Paid subscriptions help ensure the users on here are committed to the app's sole purpose and role.
Precision, reliability & security: Precise device location and notifications are designed to work together for tracking reliability and security, making the app as compatible and dependable as possible during real emergencies.
2. How It Works
GPS Integration: The app uses your device's built-in GPS (high-accuracy mode available under Settings → High-Accuracy GPS) to determine your location and zip code. You stay completely invisible to other users unless you actively broadcast an alert — no other user can see your location, profile, or presence when you are not in danger or issuing an amber alert. Your precise location is only shared while your alert is active.
Alert Buttons: Press the red "In Danger" button or the purple "Self Amber" button — labeled "I'm being trafficked" — to instantly broadcast your location on the live map for all users in your area. A Self Amber Alert is a user-initiated alert for when you are being trafficked; it is not an official government AMBER Alert™.
Notifications: Free users' alerts notify everyone in the same zip-code area via in-app notification and email/text. Statewide Pro and Countrywide subscribers' Self Amber and In Danger alerts send a native phone push notification labeled "Self Amber Alert" or "DANGER Alert" — including any details you add — to all signed-in app users in your state or the whole country, so the widest possible community can respond.
Emergency Chat: Viewing users can tap the alert marker to see your description, live video feed, and an emergency chat box to coordinate help.
Safe Button: When you are safe, press the green button. Your location stops sharing, all viewers are redirected to a green-checkmark "Safe" confirmation with options to reach you, and access to your description, video, and location is instantly turned off.
Informing the Authorities — Nearest Station: While viewing an "In Danger" or Amber alert, AnnounceAlert uses the person's live GPS to show the closest police and sheriff stations to them — highlighted by name, location, and a direct phone number — so viewers can make an instant, one-tap call to that station to dispatch help. For Self Amber alerts, location precision is tightened, and the nearest stations lying in the direction the person is moving are highlighted so viewers can see which stations are ahead of the Self Amber and call them. This helps get official responders to the scene immediately, alongside any 911 call a viewer places themselves. Station listings come from public OpenStreetMap data and may be incomplete or occasionally out of date — always dial 911 for a life-threatening emergency.
2b. How to Use — Step by Step
If you are in danger (the Alerter):
Open the app and sign in. Device location must be enabled.
(Optional) Type context in the "Add details" box at the bottom of the map — it is included in the alert notification.
Press the red "In Danger" button, or the purple "Self Amber" button (labeled "I'm being trafficked").
Your live GPS location broadcasts instantly to everyone in your zip-code area (or your state/country with a subscription), and your camera begins streaming to viewers.
Keep your phone with you and the app open. Self Amber refines your precise location every few seconds so viewers track you accurately.
Dial 911 yourself if you can, or ask a viewer to call 911 — AnnounceAlert does not replace 911.
When you are safe, press the green "I'm Safe" button. Location and video stop sharing instantly and all viewers are notified.
If you see an alert (the Viewer):
When an alert triggers in your area, a banner appears and the alert opens automatically.
Tap "View" to see the reporter's name, description, and live video stream.
Use the emergency chat to coordinate with the reporter and other nearby viewers.
Check the nearest police/sheriff stations highlighted on the map — tap a station's number to call it directly and ask them to dispatch help.
Call 911 yourself for any life-threatening emergency.
Tap "Get Directions" to open turn-by-turn navigation in your phone's native map app.
If an alert looks false or misused, tap "Report Misuse" — 20+ reports from different users auto-suspend the account for 3 weeks.
When the reporter marks safe, you'll see a green confirmation with options to message them and check they're truly alright.
2c. 911 & Emergency Response Protocol
What this app is intended for
AnnounceAlert is intended solely for anti-trafficking and genuine emergency safety use within the United States. It is a community notification and coordination aid that helps a person in danger instantly alert the people around them, share their live location and video, and connect nearby help — including the nearest police or sheriff station — while official emergency services are being engaged.
How the response protocol works alongside 911
A person in danger presses In Danger or Self Amber. Their live location, description, and (optionally) live video broadcast to everyone in the area — or their state/country with a subscription.
Viewers are notified instantly via in-app alert, browser/native notification, and email/text, and the alert opens automatically so they can assess the situation.
The nearest police/sheriff stations are highlighted on the map by name and phone number. For Self Amber alerts, the stations lying in the direction the person is moving are highlighted so viewers can call the station ahead of them.
Viewers call 911 and/or the nearest station directly from one tap to request official dispatch. The app provides station phone numbers as a convenience; it does not dispatch responders itself.
Viewers can get turn-by-turn directions to the alert location via their phone's native map app to reach the person quickly.
Emergency and area chats let viewers coordinate — sharing what they see, organizing help, and updating each other in real time.
When the person is safe, they press "I'm Safe." Location and video sharing stop instantly, all viewers are notified, and access to the description, video, and location is turned off.
Important — AnnounceAlert is not a 911 replacement
Always dial 911 first in a life-threatening emergency. AnnounceAlert does not dispatch first responders and cannot guarantee any response.
The app supplements — not replaces — official emergency services. Its role is to notify and mobilize the community around you while you or a viewer engage 911 and local police/sheriff.
Station and map data come from third-party sources (such as OpenStreetMap) and may be incomplete or occasionally out of date. Always verify by calling 911.
A "Self Amber Alert" is a user-initiated alert and is not an official government AMBER Alert™.
3. Data We Collect
Identity: Real first name, last name, age, and gender — required for verification and trust.
Contact: Email address (used for login and notifications) and optional phone number (for text alerts).
Location: Live, high-accuracy GPS coordinates — used only during an active alert broadcast and never shared or visible to other users otherwise. Your zip code is stored on your account only so we can route area notifications to you.
Chat Messages: Area group chat and emergency chat messages you send.
Camera: Live video is accessed only while your alert is active, to provide visual context to responders.
4. Data Security, Device Privacy & Encryption
Your privacy is secure while using AnnounceAlert. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, and your live location, video, and chat content are only visible to authenticated users within the scope of your active alert until you mark yourself safe — at which point access is instantly revoked. We never sell your data to third parties.
Your Device Privacy Rights:
Your device location, camera, and microphone are accessed only with your permission, and only while an alert is active. You can revoke any of these in your device or browser settings at any time.
We do not access your contacts, photos, messages, or browsing history.
Live video and location never leave the visibility scope of your active, in-area alert.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
5. Reports & Suspensions
To prevent abuse, any user can report another user for false alerts, false amber alerts, misuse, or harassment. If a user accumulates reports from 20 or more different individual users, they receive a second notice and are instantly suspended for 3 weeks. Suspended users are alerted with a report reasoning reference and the app is locked until the suspension end date.
First-time reports serve as a warning notice. Repeated offenses escalate to full suspension.
6. Your Privacy Rights, Permissions & Preferences
Your Privacy Rights
Access, review, and edit your profile and contact information from Account settings at any time.
Control your data: enable/disable email and text alerts, opt out of area chat, and toggle location and camera sharing in User Management.
Withdraw any device permission (location, camera, notifications) instantly via your device or browser settings.
Delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the app's Account settings (no need to contact support). This permanently removes your profile, contacts, messages, alerts, and reports.
Receive clear notice of what data is collected, why, and how it is secured.
Permissions AnnounceAlert Requests
Location (precise / high-accuracy): to place you and your alerts precisely on the in-app GPS map and to route area, statewide, and nationwide notifications. Optional high-accuracy mode can be toggled in Settings.
Camera & Microphone: to broadcast live video and audio to responders during an active alert.
Notifications: to alert you the instant a nearby emergency or amber alert occurs.
Each permission is optional and revocable. Denying a permission disables only the feature that needs it — core safety alerts still function to the extent allowed.
7. Global Privacy Compliance (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA)
AnnounceAlert is built to comply with global privacy requirements. We never sell your personal data. The rights below are available to all users worldwide, regardless of where you live.
GDPR (European Union & United Kingdom)
Right of access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection.

8. Community Guidelines
AnnounceAlert relies on community trust. Use the alert buttons only in genuine emergencies. False alerts endanger real victims and waste community resources. Misuse of the emergency chat, harassment, or intentional false reporting are violations subject to suspension. Reporting fake alerts around your area helps keep this platform doing what it's meant to do — protecting real people in real emergencies.
9. Age Restriction
