App Store Age Rating

AnnounceAlert is rated 12+ on the Apple App Store. This rating reflects that the app may contain infrequent or mild references to frightening or scary themes and infrequent or mild profanity, but contains no graphic violence, sexual content, drug use, or gambling.

The app is not directed at children. It is a community safety tool for anti-trafficking and emergency alert coordination within the United States.

Registration Age Gate

• No one under 18 can create an account. Users must enter their exact date of birth at registration; accounts under 18 are rejected.
• Date of birth is collected and verified at signup to enforce the 18+ requirement, and is stored on the user profile.

Sensitive & Mature Themes

The app's purpose is anti-human-trafficking and emergency safety. As a result, some user-written content may reference frightening situations. The app does not show graphic images, video, or audio of violence.

• Fear, terror, or scary themes: Infrequent / Mild — the topic is frightening, but content is text-based and educational, not graphic.
• Profanity or crude humor: Infrequent / Mild — possible in user-written chat or alert descriptions; not present in app-owned content.
• Realistic or graphic violence: None.

• Alcohol, tobacco, or drug use: None.
• Gambling: None.
• Unrestricted web access: None — links open in the native phone map app or dialer only.

User-Generated Content & Social Features

AnnounceAlert includes user-generated content and social features used solely for safety coordination:

• Area chat (zip-code-based community chat)
• Group chats (topic, statewide, and creator groups)
• Direct messages between users tied to an alert
• User-authored alert descriptions

Social features are not available to anyone under 18, because users under 18 cannot create an account.

Child Safety & Moderation

• Under-18 registration is blocked at signup via date-of-birth verification.
• Any user can report another user for false alerts, misuse, or harassment.
• Accounts reported by 20+ different users are automatically suspended for 3 weeks.
• Admins can remove objectionable alerts, messages, and accounts.
• Messages are retained for legal and accountability purposes, as stated in the Privacy Policy.

Advertising

AnnounceAlert contains no advertising. Monetization is through optional subscriptions (Creator, Statewide Pro, Countrywide) only.
